MAVG DISPLAY CONTEST REGULATIONS 

 2007 MID-ATLANTIC VILLAGE GATHERING, INC

  • The display contest is limited to private collectors.
  • The displays must be all new displays for this event.  Please keep this in mind when planning your entry.  Any display that is known to have been displayed in any other contest will be disqualified
  • Display categories:

  Ř     Small – No more than three lighted or unlighted Department 56 houses (including cold cast porcelain and S.V. and H.V. Classic Ornament Series); accessories may include items not exclusive to Department 56. (The overall dimensions shall be no larger than 24 inches deep by 24 inches wide)

  Ř     Large – Four or more lighted or unlighted Department 56 houses (including cold cast porcelain and S.V. and H.V. Classic Ornament Series); accessories may include items not exclusive to Department 56. (The overall dimensions shall be no larger than 30 inches deep by 72 inches wide)

  Ř     Figurine – No more than one house and a maximum of 25 pieces from the Department 56 Collection of Snowbabies, Snowbunnies, All Through the House, Winter Silhouettes, Silhouette Treasures, Merry Makers, and 12 Days of Dickens’ Village.  (The overall dimensions shall be no larger than 30 inches deep by 72 inches wide)

  • There are no display height restrictions; however, displays will be placed on tabletops.  If you need a special display area for floor displays; notification is required.
  • Displays will be judged beginning at noon on Friday.  Prizes will be awarded in each category (small, large, figurine).  First prize is $200 and second prize is $100.
  • In addition, based on all display categories combined, one People’s Choice first place prize of $200 and one People’s Choice second place prize of $100 will be awarded.  Voting for this category will be closed Saturday at 1 PM.
  • Each table will be skirted and electrical power will be available.  All entrants must provide their own extension cords. (it is recommended you bring a 50’ extension cord).
  • Displays may be erected in the display room as follows:
                         Thursday, April 12                         6 – 9:30 PM
                         Friday, April 13                              6 – 10 AM 
  • The display room will be closed on Friday from 10 AM to Noon for cleaning and judging.
  • Winners will be announced and prizes awarded Saturday at dinner.
  • The display room will be open to all attendees beginning Friday, from 1 – 5 PM and again on Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
  • Displays can be dismantled on Saturday from 4  to 5 PM and Sunday from 7 to 8:45 AM.
  • The display room will be locked when not open to the public.
