“The End Of The Line”
It’s a long drive to Virginia Beach
To a Hotel by the sea
And we hoped down deep within our hearts,
This ending wouldn’t be
So many years ago they met
In a small town by the sea
And that is where it all began
This GREAT MAVG.
The Woodlands was the first event
They rushed to get in line.
We had to see Ms. Lit-Town
And get our pieces signed
The Show & Sell and Swap & Sell
Were crowded to the doors
Collectors paid whatever price
The vendors sold it for.
What the Dickens & Dickens
Exchange
Were there for us to read
For pieces that we hunted
To complete our frantic need
Where else in all this crazy world
Would have a Village Mill?
And it didn’t bother you to spend
Two thousand dollar bills
The banquet sold out months ago
You’d kill to get to go
So swap your soul for tickets
Don’t even count the dough!
The night air fills the Woodlands
“Room Hopping” we all scream
From door to door we cram our bags
Just like on Halloween!
But that was then and this is now
The seasons came and went
And friends we’ve made for life is worth
Each wondrous fortune spent
And now we pray to hear that toot
The chugging down the track
And hope that train makes one more run
And brings our Gathering back
All
Aboard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
